(This portrait is in a private collection).

"It is a privilege to paint a portrait.  During the hours spent together, artist and subject enter into a relationship of openness and trust.  In  my portraits I want to reveal something of the individual dignity that shines in each person.  Before picking up a paintbrush, I look for that as inspiration.  It is true that the most beautiful paintings are those that stay closest to nature; the nature of a person is uncovered by careful, deliberate, loving observation in the visual elements of shadow, light, simple shapes, relationship of colors, rhythm, and harmony.

Available for portrait commissions.  Please email for more information. Thank you!
